We bought the tickets for the elevator to the top or "sommet". After buying the tickets, we were back in another line to the elevators. Here is the first ride up [notice the line up at the base]:
Once we reached the 2nd platform, we had to get out and into another long line for the final elevator to the sommet. The top of the Eiffel Tower is very high [324 metres] and it was very windy. Here are a few shots from the top:

When we were finished at the sommet, we got in a long line to come down to the 2nd platform and finally, we got into a long line to completely descend the tower. It was a great experience and the kids will remember it, but it would have been better if they had better crowd control or even a "fast pass".
