My first stop was Piazza Navona, which is very close to our hotel. It is typically packed with musicians, artists and street vendors. There are three large fountains in the Piazza, here is the centre fountain:
I then ran along the Tiber River and came across the Palace of Justice, which puts our Court buildings to shame:

I then found Trevi Fountain again, which was totally deserted except for two police officers [I have to say that the police presence in Rome is overwhelming. There are guard stations and officers everywhere. It makes you feel safe, but also makes you wonder what they are protecting you from].
Finally, I ran down to the Colosseum, circled it, and made my way back to the hotel to wake the kids for a day they have been talking about since we started our trip...Gladiator School!!
